Lucas Nyström - Production Manager
Lucas Nyström is one of the newer faces at Oilon, having joined the Kokkola factory as a Production Manager in August 2025. The Kokkola factory, where Oilon’s industrial heat pumps are manufactured, employs two Production Managers who lead a team of around forty production employees. In his role, Lucas is responsible for daily production management, monitoring schedules, and actively developing flow efficiency.
Lucas’s workdays are varied, involving problem-solving, guiding and scheduling production, reporting, recording working hours, and handling documentation. Every morning, he leads a meeting to review schedules, prioritize tasks, and discuss current topics.
“In this role, you get to be actively involved in many different things. Any issues that arise are tackled efficiently on the spot, and even if we don’t have an immediate solution, at least we’ve started working on it,” Lucas explains.
Starting a new position comes with plenty to learn, and Lucas credits his manager, colleagues, and thorough onboarding for making the transition smooth. “I’ve really enjoyed working at Oilon. The days go by quickly, and I’ve learned a lot in a short time. The onboarding was comprehensive and covered a wide range of topics. From the start, I’ve been given responsibility and the chance to contribute, and I’ve felt very welcomed,” he says.
For Lucas, the best part of his work are the people. “The colleagues are great – everyone is helpful and understanding, and they’ve been a big support as I’ve started. The atmosphere is good, and we have a relaxed vibe. You can ask anyone for help, and if they don’t know the answer, they’ll point you to the right person. I’d say the positive atmosphere and great teammates make the days one degree better. The industrial heat pump as a product is also interesting, even though I’m only beginning to dive deeper into it,” Lucas says.
