Anu Luotonen - Factory Manager
Anu Luotonen works as Factory Manager at Oilon’s Kokkola factory, where Oilon manufactures industrial heat pumps. The Kokkola facility employs around 50 Oilon professionals across production and office roles. Anu joined Oilon in January 2025.
“What drew me to Oilon was its green direction – the focus on energy efficiency and the ambition to produce solutions that reduce environmental impact. I wanted to be part of Oilon’s development journey by leading the production chain at the Kokkola unit,” Anu explains.
The role of Factory Manager is diverse, involving production monitoring, continuous improvement, and day-to-day problem-solving. It requires a comprehensive understanding of factory operations down to the details, as well as active collaboration with other Oilon departments.
“It’s about constantly assessing what needs to be developed and advanced at the factory, and which stakeholders we need to work with to accomplish them. At the same time, we monitor productivity, ensure resources are sufficient, and keep safety at the forefront of everyday operations and guidance.”
For Anu, the most rewarding part of the job is when people commit together to driving improvements forward. Solving challenges as a team feels fulfilling. “When obstacles arise and we manage to steer things in the right direction – even if I can’t solve the issue alone, the key is getting the team to think together about how to achieve a good outcome,” she sums up.
“What makes my workdays one degree better is seeing a colleague with a big smile. Even on a rainy day, when someone is in a great mood and grinning from ear to ear, it lifts my spirits too. In my free time, I clear my mind by hopping on my Harley and heading out for a ride to enjoy the sea views,” Anu shares.
