We are seeking an Industrial Automation Engineer with relevant experience in the programming, development, implementation, and optimization of advanced automation systems for our industrial heat pump solutions. The role focuses on automation platforms built primarily on ABB hardware.
Experience with ABB PLCs and Codesys Structured Text (IEC 61131 3) is considered an advantage.
What are we looking for in a candidate?
The position requires a solid technical background in control systems, programming, instrumentation, and digital manufacturing technologies, combined with strong collaboration skills. The ideal candidate contributes to operational reliability, ensures compliance with cybersecurity and safety requirements, and supports continuous improvement while working closely with engineering, operations, and customer service.
Your key responsibilities:
• Design and develop automation system architectures
• Contribute to the modularization, parameterization, and modernization of existing control software
• Present and justify proposed improvements to cross-functional teams
• Program and configure PLC and DCS systems
• Lead system integration and commissioning activities, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and functional test programs
• Stakeholder support for sales and service organizations
Qualifications and preferred skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
• 2–5+ years of relevant experience in automation or embedded programming within manufacturing, energy, process, or similar industrial environments
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, instrumentation, and modern control system architectures is considered beneficial
• Occasional business travel availability required
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Fluent language skills in English and Finnish, written and spoken
